Fake Dj's and Producers....
here is a good discussion, have you ever met some one who fronts so hard!! about what they do!! as an Emcee I have been given tasks, put trhough tryal and loss battles in my past, but never lied about what i do and what my capabilities are!
My thing here is some folks front so hard and they dont know the half!! the fucking sweat and tears that we go through to become the best at what we do! so if you have met some one like this please call them out!! stop writting bullshit in your bio's that your this and that whyle your still on training wheels, come on... ! dont write made up gigs or give your self credit for mixing down something for sony if you can't even custom build a track! stop being wack!! you know who you are! and you know who you will never be! stop frontin!!

I agree man, as i've said in my comments back and forth with friend DJ Dub an easy NINE out of TEN DJ's don't know the meaning of seriously rocking a club, not taking over from someone else who built it up to do a 1-3 hr set, but starting the main room at 9-10pm, working it, building it, watching it get magically packed between 11-12, blowing it the fuck up between 1-5, and slowly bringing it back down until 7am. Its an art, its a skill, and just playing good music, or knowing how to hit a sync button doesn't do shit for you unless you FEEL the vibe, unless the music moves you inside. Until YOU feel it, noone else will and you are only a jukebox.
BUT...and I will say this, as with any skill, it can be learned...and this site was built for all levels to find a home and to serve as a resource to those willing to learn.

Like any skill, djing/mixing are learned talents. Learned only by endless hours of mixing and mixing and mixing and then mixing some more...then playing and playing and playing in front of and for anyone who is willing to listen. The funny thing is, the ones who spout off their greatness aren't usually the great ones at all. It's the ones that you never expect that will pleasantly surprise you with their true greatness in the end. Any real musician supports his fellow artists, gives kudos to those who deserve them and most of all, knows that they are simply one tiny dot in the blip that is earth. Everyone has a secret talent hidden in them. There's never a need to front just a need to FIND it.

I am the GREATEST DJ to ever know that i need to learn so much more. LOL. I feel what you guys are saying. My thing and quote I am still little grasshoper in trainning, But stayed in my bed room for years just playing one vynil after another mixing this trying that blending this sound from one vynil just looping it by hand into another one. I am no where near the master. But I have done my homework. The best of it is I luv and have great passion for the Music i play. I do what i do for me not for any other reason. If your looking for a quick lat and a Big time name the you have lost all respect and value of what this music is all about. Its like doing construction and never having any kind of school and walking into a hospital to apply for a Doctors job. They gonna tell ya to go to school. So i say if you wanna be A great Musician of any kind. First go to school. Step before you walk.

Personally I really don't even pay attention to people like that. If they lie they lie, the truth will eventually come out. I just like to do my thing and let my skills speak for me. To me it's not really a competition, or calling people out. But if someone steps on your toes then thats a different story. I just love music and I love every chance I get to share it.
I will admit though I love it when I do a gig with a lot of different dj's and when I read the crowd and get them jumpin then finish my set and watch the other guy try to hold it. : )
As far as people lying and frontin, well, last time I checked everyone is a DJ of some sorts now a days cause its the cool thing to do. Right?
People that do that will ruin their names faster than they get a chance to fake it.

yeah this is a non-issue for me... when people blah blah blah blah talk my ear off about how great they are my bullshit detector goes off and i just tune them out b/c i don't like people wasting my time.
