The OpenSource MultiMedia Revolution?

Well, I'm not sure if I'd call it a revolution, but it's definitely worth taking a look at.

In the recent months I've really been looking into Open Source multimedia platforms and applications for my music. Using programs like LMMS and MiXXX, I've had the opportunity to explore my creative pursuits with out spending a Cent on any software (from the OS down to the media).

anyone out the using open source (free) software for their mixing/productions/studio? I'd love to bounce some ideas off ya, and basically let everyone know about these wonderful applications :)

currently I'm running a desktop with Ubuntu (OS, a debian derivative) running LMMS for my sequencing and remixing, MiXXX for my mixes (live/recorded). I usually download and compile my own source code (not recomended for everyone) but that helps make it a bit more customizable and nerdy ;)
