Alright the age old question...Traktor or Serato? I'm deciding between the two and need some input from all you gearheads. The new Traktor Pro seems pretty sick and it appears to have more goodies but I know a lot of DJs using Serato. I have seen issues with Serato during live sets and I've never been too sure about the sound quality. The specs on the new Traktor are impressive...I don't know...HELP!

how about vinyl?? use that and you can't go wrong...SELLOUT..
I have been playing around with the new Traktor for the last couple of weeks and it is quite deep. I have never played with SSL but the fact that it only has two decks is a dela breaker right out of the gate. So far it has not crashed on me but there are some odd audio artifacts here and there that I can't put my finger on. Depending on what you want to do you may want to look at Live.
I have Live but have not used it in my sets. Maybe I'll start experimenting with it a little more. Traktor does seem to be what I'm looking for though..
Did you stick up for VHS the same way? Might want to reconsider posting if you're gonna be a dick.

Traktor bro, and dont let the visual differences fool you...there are many many changes from regular traktor to pro, and it really depends on how you use it, one is better than the other depending on how you play.
here's my future plan...Traktor pro on the Macbook pro, my CDJ 1000's and when I save a bit of money the Xone 3D or 4D by Allen & Heath. Really if I bought that mixer my CDJ's might not get much use...Photobucket
Great setup, only thing to keep in mind is spinning out you are dragging that around, and if you arent spinning all night wiring it in would be a hassle. Think about a separate midi controller for those cases.

yeah I think that if I played out with this it would be at my own shows. I was checking out controllers too...I do like the M-Audio Torq
I think cd's are being phased out faster then vinyl even. I'd probably drop more of my cash in to a badass midi contoller. and a super portable laptop with alot of balls and a dual boot setup and a good sound card because laptop sound cards are shit. The torque is pretty sweet. I have the numark total control and bang for the buck i have no complaints, except it feels cheap. I say go with the torque or the vestax controller.
You air are correct. Please do your research before buying or feel free to ask me. I played on all avail units before making my decision. Some are like toys. Others are real gear. A Dj once asked me when I would start using CDs LOL I said that would be a backwards step and told him to buzz me when he wants to learn midi

Chris, here is the latest & greatest, the 4D is not yet Traktor certified, BUT...it has proven to work 100% AND, without a soundcard ;) But again, keep in mind, you can't count on the venues having the 4D by default so you'll have to take your own etc...

And to convince you even more that Serato route is childs play....

Seriously now...Traktor puts on the fly production in the palm of your hands. I do it all the time in my sets.
