I am sort of new to this. I currently use Orion Pro and I like it but I feel Like there is probably better choices out there. I also tried Fruity Loops. What do you use?

Reason is a great program to learn on. It sounds great and is easy to use. Ableton Live is a good step up from there or also probably a good place to start.
I agree with Ice Man. But i really don't like the way the sequencer is on Ableton. The other sequencers like sonar and cubase are easier to see, altho they are a bit more complicated u would be better off spend your efforts there where eventually u will have more options. Of course there's always pro tools, if u have the money and the time to learn how to use it.
Ive used many programs and by far in my opinion Logic has it ALL but only if your running Mac. For PC i would suggest Ableton
I have used all of the programs and the two that I favor by far is Ableton and Fruity loops. In both programs you can do anything from producing to Djing or perfoming live. Alot of people under estimate what fruity loops can do it is my number one. My favorite thing about fruity loops is the step sequencer and the ease of use. I would recomend those 2 programs to start with and they are both very powerful and you may never want another.
Reason, Ableton.
