Please tell us about yourself.
I started mixing at age 15. Grandmaster Flash's Wheels of Steel record was the one that inspired me. From 1984 to 1986 I practiced and perfected my skill. By 1987 I played my set at local house parties and high school events eventually working my way into the small clubs. In 1990 I moved to Seattle, WA. 1991 I met 2 promoters who happened to be the one of the major night club promoting groups. They incorperated me into the line up at some of the hottest clubs in town. Later I deveolped a following and played at every venue in town that offered house/disco music. In 1994, I joined a rock band called Whyte Out. I started out as the drummer, but later became the front man. I still DJ'd in my spare time but put more time into the band. Whyte Out lasted 6 years before disbanding due to foolish reasons. 2003 was my final year of DJing before retiring (taking a long break). In 2004 my brother introduced me to the Sonic Foundary Acid software program. I quickly learned it and began making my own music. 2006 he introduced me to Propellerhead Reason and I have not used any other music developing software since. 2007 we opened a recording studio in Georgetown featuring virtual studio workstations we developed together. 2009 I'm currently working with Steve Poindexter of Chicago Bad Boys Entertainment as my alter ego DJ Thom Cat producing re-edits and original material. Together we are relaunching 5 labels. We are also looking to recruit DJ/Producers to be feature on 4 labels. If interested please contact me through myspace.com/djthomcat
